The traffic management refresher course provides the required skills and knowledge to interpret and implement traffic management plans to ensure the safety of construction and maintenance workers, and the general public.

Please note that Vic Roads requires all field staff with responsibility for setting out, implementing and/or monitoring a Traffic Guidance Scheme, as required by a traffic management plan, to have completed the RIIWHS302D Implement Traffic Management Plan unit of competency and to complete a refresher course every three (3) years.

It is highly recommended that course participants also complete RIIWHS205D Control Traffic with Stop-Slow Bat to obtain work in the Traffic Control industry.

Entry Requirements

It is advisable that course participants have at least a basic level of literacy, numeracy and communication skills as well as a reasonable level of fitness and a desire to work outdoors.

Structure

This course consists of one (1) unit of competency.

Delivery

This course can be delivered in one full 8-hour day or split into two 4-hour days depending on your learning needs.

A refresher course is also available, it is recommended that you complete this every three (3) years.

Assessment

Assessment is against the National Standard, which applies in all states and territories. SysTec RTO’s assessors are fully licensed and accredited.

SysTec RTO will issue a Statement of Attainment on the successful completion of this unit of competency.
