Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry (CPCCWHS1001)
This construction induction course will enable students to get a white card.
This essential white card training will enable you to work in the construction industry. This unit of competency supports the attainment of the basic OHS knowledge required prior to undertaking designated work tasks. It requires the ability to demonstrate personal awareness of OHS legislative requirements, and the basic principles of risk management and prevention of injury and illness in the construction industry.
There are no restrictions on entry to this course however, it is preferred that course participants have at least basic skills in numeracy, literacy and communication skills as well as a reasonable level of fitness and a desire to work outdoors.
This course consists of one (1) unit of competency:
This course involves a one day class with our highly experienced training team. It will include presentations, group work and practical activities.
Upon successful completion course participants will be able to:
- Understand OHS legislative requirements
- Identify construction hazard and control measures
- Understand OHS communication and reporting processes
- How to complete OHS incident response procedure
- Understand ‘Duty of care’ responsibilities
- Understand the role of OHS personnel
- Understand the importance of safety signs identity equipment
Your White Card:
This course will enable you to work in the construction industry. Once you’ve finished the course a Construction Induction (white) card will be sent to you by WorkSafe. However, you’ll still be able to work by using your ‘statement of attainment” issued by SysTec until your white card arrives. Read more at WorkSafe here.
Assessment is against the National Standard, which applies in all states and territories. Our assessors are fully licensed and accredited. We will issue a Statement of Attainment on the successful completion of this unit of competency.
