This nationally accredited unit of competency provides practical training on trench shoring and safety. During the course, participants will be required to excavate and install primary ground support systems and physically demonstrate competency within a simulated/controlled trench environment using relevant equipment.
Although not physically demanding, course participants will be using equipment and performing activities that will require a reasonable level of fitness.
This course consists of one (1) unit of competency.
This course involves a one day class with our highly experienced training team. It will include presentations, group work and practical activities
Upon successful completion course participants will be able to use: Legislation and Code of Practice ‘Safety Precautions in Trenching Operations’ Concepts of trench safety– Ground Support Systems, Trench Shields, Battering, Soldier Sets, Closed Sheeting Trench Hazards Roles and responsibilities Notification and record keeping Development and use of safe working procedures Confined space entry requirements Plant safety and safety equipment Rescue procedures and equipment Personnel who are required to control, enter and work in excavations/trenches.
Assessment is against the National Standard, which applies in all states and territories. SysTec RTO’s assessors are fully licensed and accredited.
SysTec RTO will issue a Statement of Attainment on the successful completion of this unit of competency.
